Ricoh Company Ltd. has launched the RICOH EH Environment Sensor D101 equipped with Solid-State Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells which can generate the power from indoor lightings such as LED.

Technology and business model

Ricoh has developed a next generation solar cells equipped with the energy harvesting technology of high output at the indoor lighting environment which is applying the organic photoconductor technology developped for multifunction printer.

RICOH EH Environment Sensor D101 is now on sale, as it can measure the temperature, humidity, illuminance, and atmospheric pressure.

Sales situation

RICOH EH Environment Sensor D101 is sold as a battery-less environment sensor which can be used at the place of low lighting environments such as factory or warehouse, equipped with high efficiency power generation device.

From now on, RICOH aim for the contribution to the IoT society with expanding the implementation of our environment sensors as a self-powered device which is not required cabling and replacing batteries.
