Explanation of technology and business model

The manufacturer Lyondell basell (LYB) uses renewable crude raw materials (waste oil, etc.) during the production of olefin resins to reduce the amount of petroleum used and CO2, while reducing the quality of "bio" equivalent to that of petrochemical virgin products. We provide "PP" and "Bio PE (HDPE, LDPE)".

These biogrades (Circulen Renew) are perfectly suitable for food packaging and surface layers of films that require high quality requirements.

・"Circulen Renew Plus" can measure the content of bio-derived (waste oil, etc.) by carbon-14 analysis method.

・"Circulen Renew" will be sold with the issuance of an ISCC certificate. It validates according to transparent mass balance rules defined by a third party to provide traceability across the supply chain.

・LYB's Wesseing (Germany) crackers and multiple polymer factories in Europe have obtained ISCC PLUS certification.

As an agent, Iwatani Corp., as an agent, promotes the product to the Japanese market and at the same time explains the mass balance method to raise awareness.

Achievements and goals

As LYB, they are targeting 2 million tonnes @ 2030 for environmental products (Circulen).
