Tokyo Metropolitan and M.M. Plastic, as a pioneering in plastic material recycling, are collaborating with waste generators such as Mitsubishi Estate, Mitsui Fudosan, and Tokyu Land are conducting demonstration project.


Time started

・Fiscal Year 2022: Conducted investigation and analysis activities, including surveys of emission quantities and characteristics of office plastics, and carried out considerations and discussions for efficient material recycling.

・Fiscal Year 2023: Engaging in demonstration activities, which actual collection of office plastics and similar materials take place. The collected plastics are used to produce recycled plastic materials. Measurements of the physical properties of these recycled materials and examinations of products utilizing them are conducted.

Achievements and goals

Through the establishment of new resource-circulation business model that contributes to CO₂ reduction, the goal is to make a positive contribution towards achieving the 2030 policy targets, including improvement of recycling ratio, for materials like office plastics.
