Efforts to Reduce Plastic Emissions and Promote Recycling in Business Activities

Description of Technology and Business Model

・Introduce office chairs that offset all GHG emissions throughout their lifecycle (from raw material procurement to production, distribution, sales, and disposal after use).

・Contribute to effective resource use and waste reduction by introducing office chairs made of recycled resin legs from collected used products and upholstery made from recycled waste fabric and domestic used fishing nets.

・Switch plastic files used in business activities to LIMEX material or paper files to reduce the use of plastic products.


Achievements and Goals

・Introduce environmentally friendly furniture at sales offices since FY2022

・Replace 2,100 old office chairs at the Marunouchi headquarters building with carbon-offset products in 2024, achieving an offset of approximately 159 tons of CO₂ emissions from the production, transportation, and disposal of these products (October 2024).

・Contribute to a reduction of plastic use approximately 56.8 tons by switching plastic files to LIMEX material files and 15.5 tons by switching to paper files (FY2023).
