We have built a food recycling loop and established a regional resource recycling model. It has been done by the following approach. (1) DAIEI KANKYO Co.,Ltd., a waste disposal company, composts food waste generated at stores of group companies such as AEON Retail Co., Ltd., The Daiei Inc.

Aeon has set a goal of halving the amount of disposable plastics used by 2030 and converting TOPVALU PET bottles to 100% recycled or plant-derived materials in order to realize a decarbonized and resource-recycling society.

TerraCycle Japan, which collects and recycles containers, and four cosmetics and daily necessities manufacturers (Kose, Shiseido, L'Oreal Japan, P & G) collaborate to set boxes for used containers from customers at the "Gram Beautique" sales floor operated by AEON Retail.

Collection of refill packs and film-to-film recycling

Kao developed a technology to recycle refill packs into refill packs, and launched film-to-film recycled products with Lion, a competitor in the same industry. Ito-Yokado and Welcia Yakkyoku set up collection boxes in their stores to collect refill packs and sold film-to-film recycled products. Hamakyorex established an efficient aggregation system using return delivery to Welcia Yakkyoku.
