JIT Inc.

Origin of Our Company Name: The Meaning Behind 'JIT'

JIT stands for "Just In Time." Our mission is to deliver the necessary products and services to the people who need them, precisely when they need them, in response to the demands of each era.

We never give up on bringing to life products that fulfill the "Wouldn't it be nice if...?" wishes of our customers.

JIT will continue to convey dreams, energy, and courage to as many people as possible and strive to be a company that contributes to society, moving from "Yamanashi to the world!" and "From the world to Yamanashi!"

What is the Ink Cartridge Collection Program?

In 1999, we became the first in the world to recycle ink cartridges. Today, we have installed collection boxes in more than 23,000 locations nationwide. While approximately 100 million ink cartridges are distributed annually in Japan, about 57% of them are currently being discarded. To effectively utilize these valuable resources, JIT collects 30% of the total, or about 30.03 million cartridges annually, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 2,295 tons. This amount is equivalent to the CO2 absorbed by about 163,000 cedar trees in one year.

Our mission is to reduce the number of ink cartridges discarded worldwide, to bring them back to life as valuable products, and to expand the circle of recycling around the globe to protect the future of children.

Our Commitment to the SDGs

The Spirit of Our Founding = SDGs

JIT, having successfully launched the reuse of used ink cartridges in 1999, formally expressed its commitment to this goal on April 5, 2021, as the first company in Yamanashi Prefecture to declare its SDGs mission. We pledged to tackle all 17 of the SDGs with specific, measurable targets.

To build a sustainable society that respects the global environment, JIT Group's founding spirit—"Burn with the passion to serve others through meaningful work and services"—aligns perfectly with the goals of the SDGs.

From Yamanashi to India

JIT is advancing a business verification project in India as part of the 2024 SDGs Business Support Initiative. This project builds on the Printer Ink Cartridge Reuse Model Construction Project, which was adopted by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) in 2022.

Starting with the capital city of New Delhi, this project aims to raise awareness and promote action on environmental issues across India. Through our recycling and reuse initiatives, we are committed to combating the urgent issue of global warming and improving the environment in India.

For over 33 years, JIT has been involved in recycling and reuse projects in Japan, including the collection and recycling of small e-waste and electronic devices. Through these activities, we aim to share our technology and philosophy of turning waste into valuable resources.

Our goal is to promote the widespread adoption of collection boxes as part of the global effort to address climate change and environmental awareness, while serving as a bridge between Japan and India.
