Japan Partnership for Circular Economy

K.K. Planic

Basic values and policies for initiatives towards circular economy

Planic positions the challenges related to the Circular Economy as material issues for the company and integrates the following two points into its overarching corporate philosophy and vision:

① The very essence of our corporate activities and business significance is directly linked to the Circular Economy, and we will promote the Circular Economy through our business operations.

② By utilizing unused plastic resources derived from end-of-life vehicles (ELVs), we will promote Car to Car initiatives and contribute to the establishment of a Circular Economy in the automotive industry in our country.

Market opportunities and our strengths in circular business

Due to the ELV regulations and voluntary target setting by various automobile manufacturers, the supply of recycled plastic for automobiles in our country is becoming a demand, and a supply-demand tightness is expected in the future. In such an environment, we will leverage our proven advanced density separation technology, which has already been demonstrated in our country, to supply high-quality recycled plastic derived from end-of-life vehicles in large quantities and with stability.

Setting indices/targets

We will establish the processed raw material (INPUT) as a KPI, aiming for a plastic recycling target of 60,000 tons (equivalent to 600,000 end-of-life vehicles) by 2030.

Implementation system

Since efforts related to the Circular Economy require a medium- to long-term perspective, the management and the Board of Directors will actively engage in issues related to the Circular Economy to realize the value creation story. Additionally, we will regularly share goals, progress, and challenges with stakeholders to ensure a more reliable and swift response to the Circular Economy.
