Histroy
VOLTA Inc. is created in January 2018.
It is to recycle secondary batteries such as Lithium ion battery and Nickel metal hydride battery.
Technology and business model
Aiming at mass disposal of EV batteries in the future, currently VOLTA recycles consumer batteries.
Recycled materials are:
- Blacksand which has carbon powder with concentrated cobalt and nickel
- Copper, Aluminium and carbon from cathode and anode
For better extraction, investment in hydrometallurgical process is under examination.
