Technology and business model

Bridgestone contributes to solving pain points of transportation companies by providing a "Total Package Plan (TPP)" that combines several tire related menus such as tire supply and its maintenance.

"Tirematics Real-Time Monitoring" which is an option menu of TPP, is a remote tire monitoring service by adding functions to digital tachographs of either TRANSTRON or Yazaki Energy System, and storing tire pressure data from sensors installed inside tires by Bridgestone to its cloud via a digital tachograph. This provides each company with additional values, including prompt tire maintenance by timely notification of tire conditions to drivers and fleet managers.

Incorporating this real-time monitoring into TPP supports optimal tire pressure management, customers’ safe operation and downtime reduction, while preventing rapid worn-out of a tire and extending its wear life. In addition, TPP enables us to contribute to reducing environmental impact by increasing the opportunity to reuse tires as retreaded tires, using up tires efficiently, improving fuel efficiency, and reducing CO2 emissions.

TPP offers a subscription-based comprehensive plan that combines optimal products and services depending on customers’ vehicle usage condition, which not only improves the efficiency of customers' operations, but also makes it easier to manage budgets by leveling tire-related costs.
